Jackson’s Effort Not Enough for Sandburg Women vs. Duhawks

Kennedy Jackson (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) paced the Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team in scoring and rebounding, but the Chargers fell to Loras JV 70-47 on Saturday.
Jackson scored 11 points and tied Yvonne Mixon (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) for the team lead with seven rebounds, but the Chargers shot just 27 percent (18 of 66) from the floor in the contest.
The Duhawks outscored Sandburg 21-12 in the second quarter to take a 39-29 lead into halftime.
Mixon was the only other Chargers player to reach double figures, scoring 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting.
Sandburg look to bounce back at 5:30 p.m. tonight as it hosts Eureka JV.
